Description:
We’re hiring a CNC Machine Operator Trainee for our smart production floor — where automation, precision, and continuous improvement work hand in hand. You don’t need experience, but you do need to be serious about learning a skill that takes time, focus, and care. Your training will start with the basics: understanding materials, reading blueprints, learning tool names, and shadowing live machine setups. You’ll be trained on how to load materials, secure fixtures, and set up machines where tolerances are tight and tool wear is constant. You’ll run CNC equipment during off-hours, with support nearby but not always right next to you — and that trust means something here. You’ll inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual checks to ensure everything is within tolerance. You’ll learn how to read digital readouts, make minor offset adjustments, and stop the machine when something doesn’t sound right. You’ll be responsible for following job travelers, heat treatment records, and exact sequences — because skipping a step isn’t an option with expensive material. You’ll measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, and double-check your numbers before moving forward.
Basic Qualifications:
- Log production data, machine hours, and quality results in shop records or manufacturing systems for traceability.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality control teams, and production supervisors to resolve production issues or suggest process improvements.
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as mills, lathes, or routers to produce parts according to technical drawings or blueprints.
- Adjust machine settings, tool offsets, or cutting speeds as needed to optimize efficiency and maintain tolerances.
- Identify and flag non-conforming parts for rework or scrap, following proper procedures and documentation protocols.
Preferred:
- Wants to grow into roles like CNC Programmer, Lead Operator, or Manufacturing Technician.
- Familiar with safety procedures in a machine shop environment, including use of PPE.
- Can adjust feed rates, spindle speeds, or tool paths to improve part quality or reduce cycle time.
- Background or interest in machining, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or industrial tech.
- Able to follow job orders and production schedules with accuracy and attention to detail.
Benefits:
- No BS dress code — just stay safe and comfy.
- Health insurance, sick days, and real paid vacations — because you're not a robot.
- Get recognized for doing solid work — no need to be loud to be seen.
- Family-friendly environment — we respect your time at home.
- You won’t just push buttons — you'll understand what the machine does.
You’ll troubleshoot minor issues on the fly, and escalate problems when precision or safety could be compromised. You’ll work alongside experienced machinists and programmers who respect the machines — but also know their limits. You’ll help maintain machines that require tight alignment, fine-tuned balancing, and daily checks to stay production-ready. ” You’ll grow at your own pace, with patient instruction, honest feedback, and respect for the process — not just the product. You’ll discover that working nights isn’t just about peace and quiet — it’s about being reliable, alert, and taking pride in holding the line. You’ll operate with consistency, focus, and a respect for craftsmanship that goes beyond just pressing "start. You’ll earn the respect of the day team by showing up every night, doing the job right, and learning something new with every part you run. You’ll leave this role with hands-on experience, technical habits, and the ability to say: “I kept the shop running while the world slept. ” If you value quiet focus, technical skill, and the satisfaction of solo work done well — we’re ready to train you after dark.
