Description:

We’re looking for an Animator Trainee who sees movement as design in motion — someone who’s ready to learn how rhythm, spacing, and exaggeration can transform still art into dynamic storytelling. You’ll assist in animating characters, props, and environments for games, videos, or interactive experiences under the guidance of senior animators. We’ll teach you animation principles like timing, squash and stretch, anticipation, and how to apply them in different styles. You’ll work on pose-to-pose animations, expressive loops, and scene transitions using tools like Toon Boom, After Effects, or Adobe Animate. Expect to use tools like Blender, Maya, or Spine depending on the project style and pipeline. You’ll help export animation assets, manage file structures, and learn how animation integrates with design and development. You’ll participate in team reviews and learn how to give and receive feedback that improves flow and clarity. We’ll guide you in organizing your files, naming conventions, and versioning so you work like a professional from day one. You’ll also learn how to animate in constraints, match existing styles, and keep things optimized for performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Create fluid, expressive animations for characters, objects, or environments in 2D or 3D formats.
• Understand how your animations support storytelling, gameplay, or emotional tone.
• Have fun animating—when you love the motion, it shows in every frame.
• Animate everything from subtle facial expressions to complex action sequences.
• Document workflows and animation libraries for team use and future scalability.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working in a cross-functional team alongside illustrators, designers, and developers.
• Proficient in animation software such as Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, or Maya.
• Experience creating 2D or 3D animations for games, film, explainer videos, or social media content.
• Able to sync animation to voiceovers, sound effects, or music cues when needed.
• Capable of rigging characters or using pre-built rigs to create expressive movement.
