Description:

We’re hiring a Medical Registrar Trainee who’s ready to step into the administrative side of healthcare and support smooth patient flow in a clinical setting. You’ll start by observing how patient data is recorded, updated, and handled with confidentiality and accuracy. Under supervision, you will assist with accurately entering patient information into the hospital’s electronic record systems. You’ll learn how to keep patient records updated, from appointment history to medical notes, while protecting patient privacy at all times. You’ll support front desk staff by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and directing patient queries with professionalism. You will support the coordination of communication between patients, departments, and medical personnel. You’ll be trained in using hospital information systems, coding basics, and internal workflows to ensure each case is logged correctly. You’ll be trained to use our healthcare software and shown how to double-check entries for accuracy and completeness. You’ll monitor waiting room activity and help keep delays managed through polite and efficient updates.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Communicate with patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses with empathy.
  • Conduct thorough patient histories, physical exams, and develop differential diagnoses.
  • Coordinate with allied health professionals—physiotherapists, dietitians, pharmacists—for holistic care.
  • Take the lead in managing acutely ill or deteriorating patients, including initiating resuscitation protocols.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, initiate treatments, and adjust care plans as needed.

Preferred:

  • Able to handle emotionally intense situations such as end-of-life care with professionalism and empathy.
  • Willing to adapt to department needs, rotating specialties, or new care models as part of training.
  • Can manage complex cases, escalate appropriately, and contribute to morbidity/mortality reviews.
  • Fully licensed medical doctor with postgraduate training and enrollment in a recognized specialist training program.
  • Experience working in hospital settings with direct responsibility for patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
