Description:

We’re hiring an Actuary Trainee who’s passionate about numbers, risk, and turning data into real-world decisions — no experience required, just strong math skills and a curious, analytical mind. You’ll assist in analyzing datasets to identify risk patterns and financial trends across insurance or pension portfolios. We’ll teach you how to build models that simulate future events like claims, investment returns, or demographic shifts. You’ll help assess risks in areas like insurance, pensions, or investment products, depending on the team you join. Expect to work with historical data and help identify trends that drive strategic planning. You’ll learn to interpret mortality tables, claim patterns, and economic assumptions. We’ll guide you through actuarial concepts like mortality tables, discounting, and loss reserving. You’ll contribute to the creation of reports, visual dashboards, and internal presentations used to guide key decisions. We’ll guide you through key actuarial metrics like expected value, standard deviation, and confidence intervals.

Basic Qualifications:

• Use tools like Excel, R, Python, or specialized actuarial software to run forecasts and simulations.
• Break down large problems into smaller pieces, testing assumptions and dependencies carefully.
• Update models regularly based on regulatory changes, emerging data, or shifts in market behavior.
• Work with underwriters, product managers, and executives to shape pricing and risk strategies.
• Collaborate with data engineers or analysts to streamline data pipelines and improve accuracy.

Preferred:

• Able to collaborate with underwriters, analysts, and finance teams on cross-functional projects.
• Able to analyze large data sets and interpret trends for insurance, pensions, or investment decisions.
• Maintains confidentiality, objectivity, and compliance with professional standards.
• Comfortable handling uncertainty, identifying risk drivers, and designing mitigation strategies.
• Capable of conducting pricing, reserving, or capital modeling tasks under supervision.
