Description:
We’re offering a Clinical Psychologist Trainee position for someone who’s deeply curious about the human mind and passionate about helping others through evidence-based care — no prior experience required, just empathy, ethics, and a willingness to learn. You’ll assist licensed psychologists with case preparation, session planning, and the daily structure of therapeutic work. We’ll teach you how clinical psychologists build trust, track progress, and manage sensitive emotional material. You’ll learn how to document progress, track behavioral patterns, and participate in debriefs with licensed psychologists. Expect to be involved in both individual and group therapy contexts, depending on your supervisor and placement. We’ll walk you through how psychologists conduct assessments, build treatment plans, and set therapeutic goals. You’ll support the preparation of worksheets, feedback forms, and emotional regulation exercises used in sessions. We’ll teach you how to recognize signs of trauma, dissociation, or defense mechanisms — and respond appropriately within your trainee scope. You’ll gain awareness of how culture, background, and environment affect client experiences and therapeutic rapport.
Basic Qualifications:
- Help clients process trauma, navigate life transitions, and build coping strategies for daily stress.
- Respond to crises calmly and with clear protocols to protect patient safety.
- Balance a demanding caseload while avoiding burnout through supervision and self-care.
- Work independently in private practice or as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Be mindful of insurance, billing, and documentation for clients using healthcare plans.
Preferred:
- Organized with session scheduling, intake documentation, and referral coordination.
- Willing to engage in supervision, peer review, or continued education to refine clinical skills.
- Experience conducting psychological assessments, diagnostic interviews, and evidence-based therapy sessions.
- Capable of handling emotional intensity and crisis situations with calm and clinical judgment.
- Proficient in applying therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or psychodynamic therapy.
Benefits:
- Opportunities to lead workshops, research, or community outreach.
- Weekly case debriefs with coffee and zero judgment.
- We celebrate your wins — even the small therapeutic breakthroughs.
- Your clinical opinion matters — you're not just a box-checker.
- Flexible vacation policies — because burnout helps no one.
We’ll teach you how to communicate professionally with clients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams. You’ll learn about boundaries, burnout prevention, and how to take care of your own emotional health as a future clinician. This role is perfect for someone who doesn’t seek the spotlight but wants to become someone people can trust. We’ll support your development with case discussions, weekly supervision, and exposure to multiple clinical styles. We’ll support your professional growth with supervision, guided readings, and real conversations about clinical work. By the end of your traineeship, you’ll understand the foundations of clinical psychology and how psychologists support healing and change. You’ll have a stronger sense of what it means to be a psychologist — and what’s required to become one. If you’re ready to support the healing process and start your path in clinical psychology — this is your first step.
