Description:
We’re hiring a CNC Machine Operator Trainee for our smart production floor — where automation, precision, and continuous improvement work hand in hand. You’ll be responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring CNC machines to produce high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. You’ll be introduced to CNC machines that run with sensors, digital dashboards, tool-life monitoring, and built-in quality alerts — and we’ll show you how it all works. You’ll load materials, inspect tools, calibrate settings, and make sure everything is aligned before the first cut is made. You’ll learn how to read tolerances, measure finished parts with calipers and micrometers, and know when something is slightly off before it becomes a defect. You’ll inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual checks to ensure everything is within tolerance. You’ll help inspect parts using micrometers, bore gauges, and surface roughness testers — because quality here isn’t visual, it’s measurable down to the micron. You’ll be responsible for following job travelers, heat treatment records, and exact sequences — because skipping a step isn’t an option with expensive material. You’ll learn why precision starts before the cycle runs — from coolant flow to machine warmup, from zero offsets to tool height settings.
Basic Qualifications:
- Identify and flag non-conforming parts for rework or scrap, following proper procedures and documentation protocols.
- Ultimately, ensure precision parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely—supporting the backbone of modern manufacturing.
- Load raw materials into machines, install tooling, and run test cycles to ensure machines are properly calibrated before full production.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or CMM equipment to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards.
- Train or assist junior operators when needed—sharing best practices and helping them build foundational machining skills.
Preferred:
- Understands how to load materials, set up tooling, and perform basic machine calibrations.
- Comfortable reporting production issues, defects, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Familiar with reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Organized in managing job orders, material inventory, and scrap tracking.
- Familiar with safety procedures in a machine shop environment, including use of PPE.
Benefits:
- Stable full-time work with zero guesswork — we believe in reliable schedules.
- Clear path to senior operator roles — no dead ends here.
- Work in a place where things get built — see your impact every day.
- If something breaks, you won’t be blamed — you’ll be supported.
- Paid overtime if you want it, no pressure if you don’t.
You’ll clean your work area, remove chips, and make sure your machine is ready for the next shift, every single night. You’ll work alongside experienced machinists and programmers who respect the machines — but also know their limits. You’ll learn new materials, tool types, and cutting techniques as we evolve our processes and expand our capabilities. You’ll work in a calm, focused environment where speed comes only after consistency, and no one rushes what must be exact. You’ll discover that this is more than a factory job — it’s a craft, and you’re learning to think in thousandths of an inch. You’ll operate with consistency, focus, and a respect for craftsmanship that goes beyond just pressing "start. " You’ll be a key part of the production process — turning raw material into something exact, functional, and valuable. If you’re curious, careful, and ready to grow in a place where craftsmanship meets technology — we’re ready to train you. ” If you value quiet focus, technical skill, and the satisfaction of solo work done well — we’re ready to train you after dark.
