Description:

We’re hiring a Barista Trainee to join our in-office café team, where consistency, professionalism, and warm service are key to starting the workday right for hundreds of guests. You’ll start by learning how to calibrate espresso machines, grind beans to spec, and prepare pour-over setups with care. You’ll assist in prepping gear, checking the espresso machine, and stocking milk, beans, and cups before service starts. You’ll be trained in milk steaming technique, practicing texture and temperature until you’re confident with every cup. You’ll learn how to balance speed with care, delivering drinks quickly without cutting corners on quality. You’ll support keeping the workspace tidy — wiping counters, washing tools, and helping with dish rotation during rushes. You’ll help manage inventory on the go, making sure we never run out of essentials like ice, lids, or oat milk. You’ll learn how to build a drinks menu that respects the season, highlights origin beans, and pairs well with our pastries. You’ll learn how to prep cold brews, batch lattes, and handle bulk drink orders without compromising quality.

Basic Qualifications:

• Upsell pastries, snacks, or merchandise when appropriate without being pushy.
• Handle payments quickly and accurately through POS systems—cash, card, or mobile.
• Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure quality and customer health.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness at the bar, workstations, and customer areas.
• Memorize the menu, including seasonal specials and alternative options for dietary needs.

Preferred:

• Capable of supporting team members and stepping into other roles when necessary for smooth operations.
• Follows hygiene and sanitation procedures strictly, including regular equipment cleaning and workspace maintenance.
• Able to follow drink recipes accurately while offering speed and consistency during high-volume hours.
• Values friendliness, precision, and teamwork in a service-driven environment.
• Enjoys creating small moments of connection with every cup served.
