Description:

We’re hiring a Loader Trainee to join our food distribution warehouse, where speed, cleanliness, and care are essential to keeping stores and restaurants fully stocked. You’ll assist with loading and unloading containers from trucks and ships, learning how port operations run 24/7. You’ll be taught how to lift and carry heavy items safely, using proper posture and teamwork for awkward or oversized loads. You’ll help prepare outbound trucks for early-morning dispatch, arranging packages by route and delivery priority. You’ll help stack and wrap pallets, making sure fragile or crushable goods like bread, eggs, or fruit are packed with care. You’ll gain awareness of heavy machinery zones, learning where to walk, when to wait, and how to signal for movement. You’ll support loading trucks for early deliveries, matching items to store orders and verifying quantities against pick lists. You’ll be taught how to use pallet jacks, floor scales, and scanners to manage goods quickly and accurately. You’ll follow strict safety rules — from reflective vests to helmet use — and help maintain a clean, hazard-free dock area.

Basic Qualifications:

• Be physically prepared for repetitive tasks, lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Verify shipment contents against packing slips, manifests, or digital records.
• Lift heavy objects safely using proper techniques and request help when needed.
• Follow weight limits and stacking guidelines to ensure safe and balanced loads.
• Handle packages, boxes, or materials with care to avoid damage during transit.

Preferred:

• Comfortable with repetitive physical tasks and staying productive during long shifts.
• Familiar with proper lifting techniques and use of equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and hand trucks.
• Willing to participate in cross-training or assist in packing, pallet wrapping, or sorting when required.
• Wants to grow into roles like Forklift Operator, Loading Supervisor, or Dock Coordinator.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and frequent movement.
