Description:

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to building robust backend services and APIs. You’ll work with experienced developers to build backend infrastructure that ensures smooth communication between servers, databases, and clients. You’ll assist in writing clean and well-documented code using backend technologies such as Node. js, Python, or Ruby. js, Python, or Java, ensuring reliability and performance. You’ll collaborate with database administrators to maintain and optimize database systems for fast and efficient data access. You’ll assist in identifying and solving performance bottlenecks, optimizing code to improve speed and reduce server load. You’ll learn best practices for writing secure, maintainable, and testable backend code. You’ll help ensure the security of our applications, including data protection, authentication, and authorization.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work closely with senior developers to understand business logic, system architecture, and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, retrospectives, and planning meetings to stay involved in the full development lifecycle.
• Ask questions and seek mentorship when stuck—backend development can be complex, but learning fast matters more than knowing everything.
• Test endpoints using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or built-in unit/integration tests to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Be a team player, stay curious, and contribute consistently—you’re here to learn, improve, and build real things that work.

Preferred:

• Familiar with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and how to write simple SQL queries.
• Has created personal or academic projects involving backend logic or API development.
• Understands how to build and consume RESTful APIs and basic CRUD operations.
• Has a GitHub profile with projects showing API, server, or database work.
• Able to follow Jira boards, Trello, or other project management tools in remote teams.
