Description:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Transcriptionist to join our team and transcribe audio and video files into written documents. You’ll be responsible for transcribing interviews, podcasts, meetings, and other audio content with high accuracy and attention to detail. You’ll work with different formats and platforms, transcribing content such as interviews, podcasts, lectures, and corporate meetings. You’ll ensure that all transcriptions are clear, organized, and meet client requirements, including timestamps and special formatting requests. You’ll proofread and edit transcriptions to eliminate any errors, ensuring the final product is polished and precise. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and adhere to confidentiality agreements. You’ll follow client specifications and requirements, ensuring that all formatting, timestamps, and special instructions are followed. You’ll collaborate with clients to ensure that transcriptions meet their needs and are delivered promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Use tools like Express Scribe, Otter.ai, Descript, or manual methods to complete transcriptions efficiently and precisely.
• Transcribe a variety of materials including interviews, podcasts, meetings, lectures, webinars, and legal or medical recordings.
• Mark unclear audio with timestamps or tags (e.g., [inaudible], [crosstalk]) and follow up when clarification is needed.
• Use foot pedals, noise-canceling headphones, and other tools to improve efficiency and clarity when working with difficult audio.
• Follow legal or medical terminology guidelines (if specialized) and verify technical terms through research when necessary.

Preferred:

• Can follow style guides such as verbatim or clean-read depending on client requirements.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail when transcribing audio or video files.
• Able to distinguish between multiple speakers and add appropriate labels or timestamps.
• Can accept feedback and revise transcripts based on reviewer comments or preferences.
• Understands how to properly format transcripts for readability and consistency.
