Description:

We’re hiring a skilled and meticulous Transcriptionist to join our team and provide accurate, high-quality transcriptions for various projects. You’ll be responsible for transcribing recordings, ensuring all dialogue, speaker labels, and background noises are accurately noted. You’ll ensure all transcripts are clear, complete, and error-free, accurately reflecting the content of the audio. You’ll work with various formats, including audio, video, and even live transcriptions, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work. You’ll proofread and edit transcriptions to eliminate any errors, ensuring the final product is polished and precise. You’ll handle sensitive and confidential materials with discretion and follow strict confidentiality protocols. You’ll be expected to work independently and handle confidential information with care, adhering to confidentiality guidelines. You’ll be using transcription software to increase productivity while ensuring your output meets the highest quality standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Support accessibility efforts by transcribing content for deaf or hard-of-hearing audiences.
• Transcribe in multiple languages or accents (if multilingual) or follow regional spelling/grammar preferences (e.g., US vs. UK English).
• Continuously improve grammar, formatting, and typing skills to boost speed and polish.
• Format transcripts according to specific guidelines—verbatim, clean read, time-coded, speaker-labeled, etc.
• Listen to audio or video recordings and accurately convert spoken content into written text, maintaining clarity and context.

Preferred:

• Thrives in focused, detail-oriented tasks that support research, content, or accessibility.
• Experience using timestamps, speaker tags, and formatting tools efficiently.
• Familiar with transcription tools like Otter.ai, Express Scribe, Descript, or manual text editors.
• Comfortable working with audio that includes accents, background noise, or technical terminology.
• Organized with file naming, time tracking, and delivery processes.
