We’re looking for a Trainee Tailor who’s ready to learn one of the most respected and useful trades — tailoring. No experience? In your first days, you’ll help with simple alterations — fixing zippers, shortening sleeves, and adjusting hems. You’ll observe quiet hands at work — cutting, stitching, pressing — and begin to understand the elegance of the process. In your first weeks, you’ll help with simple alterations like hemming, adjusting lengths, and reattaching buttons. You’ll learn to recognize fabrics by touch, understand their behavior, and choose the right technique for each one. You’ll be trained by master tailors who will guide you through techniques that take years to perfect. You’ll discover how every fabric has its own personality — and how tailors work with each one carefully. You’ll also assist with fittings, where you’ll see how small tweaks dramatically improve comfort and look.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay updated on current fashion trends, tailoring techniques, and fabric technologies to offer modern and functional solutions.
• Handle minor repairs such as fixing zippers, replacing buttons, patching holes, or re-stitching seams quickly and efficiently.
• Respect client privacy and preferences—handling custom orders with discretion and attention to detail.
• Ultimately, craft clothes that feel personal, fit flawlessly, and bring confidence to every client who wears them.
• Suggest fabric choices, trims, or modifications to clients when designing or altering garments for special occasions.

Preferred:

• Thrives in quiet, detail-focused work environments that allow for creativity and refinement.
• Willing to create or alter prototypes, samples, or custom design requests when needed.
• Familiar with sewing machines, sergers, overlockers, and hand-stitching tools.
• Can meet deadlines for tailoring jobs and handle multiple garments simultaneously.
• Comfortable performing tasks such as hemming, tapering, resizing, and replacing zippers or buttons.
