Join our team as a Building Maintenance Technician Trainee — no experience required, just a real interest in fixing things and learning new skills. No prior experience? No problem — we’ll train you in the real world, one task at a time. You’ll begin by shadowing experienced maintenance staff and learning the basics of building systems. Every task is a learning opportunity — whether it’s fixing a leaking faucet or testing a smoke detector. You’ll gain insight into plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general upkeep — all in real-life settings. Expect to be on your feet, moving through hallways, boiler rooms, rooftops, and everything in between. You’ll help with routine inspections, note any issues, and assist in minor repairs across the building. Plumbing, electrical, painting, locks — you’ll get a taste of everything as you explore the trade.

Basic Qualifications:

• Test and maintain emergency systems such as backup generators, exit lighting, and fire extinguishers according to schedule.
• Help manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies—ordering replacements or notifying supervisors when stock is low.
• Operate and monitor building systems such as boilers, chillers, fire alarms, and security systems under supervision or per checklist.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and infrastructure to identify issues, perform preventative maintenance, and minimize downtime.
• Work with hand and power tools to complete tasks like patching drywall, painting, changing light bulbs, or repairing door hardware.

Preferred:

• Experience performing routine maintenance tasks in commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
• Willing to be on call for emergency repairs or rotating maintenance coverage.
• Able to lift heavy equipment, work on ladders, and complete tasks in tight or elevated spaces.
• Organized with tracking maintenance schedules, supply inventory, and work assignments.
• Background or interest in facility operations, maintenance trades, or mechanical systems.
