We’re hiring an Animator Trainee who’s passionate about character performance — someone who studies expressions, body language, and timing, and wants to make every movement feel alive. You’ll support the animation team on 2D projects ranging from social content to indie games to animated shorts. We’ll teach you how to block out key poses, refine timing, and polish arcs until a character feels like they’re thinking, not just moving. You’ll work with animation blueprints, state machines, and export pipelines for game engines like Unity or Unreal. You’ll collaborate closely with game designers and programmers to make sure animations feel good in players’ hands — not just look good in isolation. You’ll participate in animation reviews where we discuss weight, anticipation, and silhouette readability. You’ll participate in team reviews and learn how to give and receive feedback that improves flow and clarity. We’ll guide you in organizing your files, naming conventions, and versioning so you work like a professional from day one. You’ll collaborate with riggers, modelers, and sound designers to make sure your animations integrate smoothly across the pipeline.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ensure timing, movement, and weight feel believable—even in stylized or exaggerated animation styles.
• Contribute to team brainstorming sessions with movement-driven storytelling ideas.
• Follow the project’s art direction and maintain consistency across all animated elements.
• Work efficiently within tight feedback loops and shifting creative directions.
• Maintain a high attention to detail, especially in fast-paced or high-volume pipelines.

Preferred:

• Wants to grow into roles like Senior Animator, Animation Director, or Technical Animator.
• Can follow brand guidelines or creative briefs while still contributing original ideas.
• Organized with file management, version control, and layer naming conventions for collaboration.
• Willing to adapt animation styles from hand-drawn and stylized to realistic and physics-based.
• Pays attention to character consistency, emotional nuance, and cinematic flow.
