Description:

We’re offering a position for a Gardener / Landscaper Trainee — perfect for someone who enjoys fresh air, steady work, and learning by doing. If you’ve never planted a flower or trimmed a hedge, that’s okay — we’ll teach you from the ground up. We’ll teach you the basics: how to handle tools safely, how to dig without damaging roots, and how to water properly. You’ll begin with tasks like watering, weeding, carrying tools, and helping set up planting beds. You’ll learn to use rakes, hoes, pruning shears, and mowers properly and safely. You’ll also begin to understand how seasons affect plants — when to plant, when to prune, and when to let things rest. Expect to work outdoors in all weather — hot sun, cool mornings, and sometimes muddy ground — and go home with tired hands and a clear head. We’ll show you how to shape flower beds, edge lawns, and make small spaces feel neat and intentional. You’ll assist with planting trees, building borders, and sometimes even installing irrigation systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Assist in sourcing and selecting plants, garden materials, and decorative features from local nurseries or suppliers.
• Provide input on design improvements or efficiency upgrades that could improve visual appeal or lower maintenance.
• Build and maintain retaining walls, patios, fences, or raised beds using basic construction tools and techniques.
• Help train junior staff on landscaping techniques, tool safety, and plant care when needed.
• Transport soil, compost, rocks, or plants using wheelbarrows, carts, or light machinery as needed on-site.

Preferred:

• Able to safely operate landscaping tools and machinery such as lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, or leaf blowers.
• Comfortable working in teams or independently depending on project scope.
• Able to maintain and troubleshoot sprinkler systems or hose-based watering schedules.
• Can manage time efficiently and complete tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Organized in managing garden waste, tool storage, and on-site cleanliness.
