Description:

We’re hiring beginner-level Building Maintenance Technicians who want to learn real, hands-on skills that keep buildings running. No prior experience? No problem — we’ll train you in the real world, one task at a time. At first, your days will involve assisting in basic repairs, organizing supplies, and learning how building systems work. Expect to carry tools, replace filters, reset thermostats, and keep mechanical rooms clean and organized. You’ll learn how to safely use tools, ladders, and equipment — and when to ask for help. Expect to be on your feet, moving through hallways, boiler rooms, rooftops, and everything in between. We’ll train you to be proactive — knowing when to tighten a bolt or report a weird noise. You’ll walk a lot, climb stairs, lift equipment, and sometimes get dusty — but you’ll always be supported.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work with hand and power tools to complete tasks like patching drywall, painting, changing light bulbs, or repairing door hardware.
• Collaborate with contractors or vendors for larger repairs or upgrades—providing access, supervision, and follow-up as needed.
• Use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding safely to access and maintain elevated systems or fixtures.
• Adapt to a variety of facility types—office buildings, schools, retail, apartments—based on employer or assignment.
• Update logs and work orders using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track activity and parts used.

Preferred:

• Familiar with basic building codes, fire safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Able to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues.
• Able to explain basic repair procedures or safety risks to non-technical personnel.
• Comfortable using hand tools, ladders, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
• Experience performing routine maintenance tasks in commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
