Description:

We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist to restore high-end and designer footwear — ideal for someone who values precision, discretion, and the art of premium craftsmanship. You’ll work on popular brands like Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Vans, and Converse, restoring structure, grip, and appearance. You’ll be trained to replace soles and heels, patch tears, restitch seams, and restore worn-down parts using professional tools. You’ll be trained to operate portable tools and battery-powered machines safely and efficiently within small spaces. You’ll operate specialized machines like grinders, sanders, stitchers, and presses while following strict safety procedures. You’ll learn to clean, deodorize, and revitalize sneakers using brush techniques, steam tools, and sneaker-safe cleaning agents. You’ll work with synthetic materials, foam, canvas, rubber, and glued constructions that differ from traditional leather shoes. You’ll assist with protective sole installation, adhesive repairs, and preventive treatments using travel-safe materials. You’ll track common damage patterns for runners, skaters, and active clients — helping prevent future issues.

Basic Qualifications:

• Order and restock supplies like soles, nails, glue, thread, and polish as needed.
• Perform quality control checks before returning items to ensure satisfaction.
• Stretch tight shoes or adjust fit based on customer needs and material limitations.
• Take pride in extending the life of well-loved items and reducing waste through craftsmanship.
• Stay current with new materials, footwear construction methods, and repair techniques.

Preferred:

• Capable of offering personalized care for orthopedic or custom-fit footwear.
• Willing to perform detailed work like orthotic insert adjustments or reconditioning vintage or luxury footwear.
• Experienced in communicating with customers about service expectations and pricing clearly and respectfully.
• Open to experimenting with modern adhesives, repair materials, or eco-friendly solutions.
• Skilled in using tools such as hammers, knives, sanders, sewing machines, and adhesive applicators.
