Description:

We’re hiring a Mail Processing Trainee to join our overnight sorting team — ideal for someone who enjoys focused work, quiet environments, and behind-the-scenes logistics. You’ll start by learning high-density city routes, using maps and GPS to navigate alleys, apartment blocks, and busy streets efficiently. You’ll assist in unloading postal trucks, scanning barcodes, and placing parcels onto conveyor systems or into sorting bins. You’ll help load mail into bags or vehicles, making sure fragile and high-priority items are placed properly. You’ll help customers with postage options, tracking questions, and mailing forms — always with a helpful attitude. You’ll support front-desk operations by restocking supplies like stamps, envelopes, and customs declarations. You’ll be shown how to deliver in various weather conditions — from summer heat to muddy back roads or snowy driveways. You’ll assist in keeping records of misrouted items, rejected barcodes, and damaged packaging that needs inspection. You’ll be trained to lift properly, use carts or dollies, and follow safety procedures for repetitive tasks and heavy loads.

Basic Qualifications:

• Take pride in connecting people and businesses through reliable, day-to-day service.
• Handle fragile or high-value items with care and follow special delivery protocols.
• Scan barcodes and update tracking systems in real time using handheld devices.
• Obtain signatures for certified or insured deliveries and keep accurate delivery records.

• Familiar with scanning packages, updating tracking info, or recording delivery confirmations using handheld devices.
• Organized in returning undeliverable items, collecting outgoing mail, and reporting address issues or obstacles.
