Description:
We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist for our mall-based service kiosk — ideal for someone who’s fast, friendly, and ready to restore footwear in a high-traffic setting. You’ll handle luxury brands with care, working on shoes that require exact stitching, delicate materials, and meticulous finishing. You’ll be trained to work efficiently with compact tools and machines suited for small-space operations. You’ll be trained to operate portable tools and battery-powered machines safely and efficiently within small spaces. You’ll learn how to use micro-sanders, needle stitchers, and hand-finishing tools to restore like-new condition without altering original structure. You’ll assist with protective sole installations, custom taps, heel plates, and invisible sole guards for designer footwear. You’ll work with synthetic materials, foam, canvas, rubber, and glued constructions that differ from traditional leather shoes. You’ll help organize tickets, track turnaround times, and notify clients when repairs are ready for pickup. You’ll support repair of matching accessories like leather bags, wallets, or belts using small-scale restoration tools.
Basic Qualifications:
- Diagnose shoe damage and provide customers with clear repair options and price estimates.
- Customize insoles or inserts for orthopedic needs or comfort improvements.
- Polish, condition, and clean leather or suede shoes to improve appearance and prolong lifespan.
- Explain what’s repairable and what’s not, managing expectations with honesty and professionalism.
- Offer additional services like belt shortening, bag stitching, or leather care when appropriate.
Preferred:
- Familiar with using digital payment systems, service logs, or basic POS software in a repair shop setting.
- Open to experimenting with modern adhesives, repair materials, or eco-friendly solutions.
- Willing to handle handbag, belt, or leather accessory repairs if required by the shop.
- Thrives in quiet, skill-focused environments where patience and technique make a difference.
- Values precision, durability, and tradition in every repair.
Benefits:
- A stable career path — shoe repair will always be in demand, no matter the season.
- The opportunity to work with a variety of materials — leather, suede, fabric, and more.
- Paid time off and holidays — we care about your personal time and well-being.
- Room to grow — expand your skills into leather goods, bags, or even custom repairs.
- You’ll build long-term relationships with clients — many will return again and again.
You’ll interact with clients respectfully, respecting their space and maintaining a clean, efficient presence during service. You’ll help package finished shoes with branded wrapping, dust bags, and care guides for a luxury presentation experience. You’ll be trained to work on specialty items like boots, orthopedic footwear, designer brands, and even bags or belts. You’ll maintain a clean workstation stocked with adhesives, foams, and tools specific to casual footwear. You’ll be mentored by master cobblers who specialize in bespoke and couture repair standards. You’ll represent the brand in the field, acting as a trusted, professional technician that people can rely on at their doorstep. No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to work with your hands, stay focused, and provide great service on the spot. If you’re ready to handle shoes worth thousands with hands that treat them like art, we’re ready to teach you the craft behind the luxury.
