Description:

We’re looking for an efficient and accurate Transcriptionist to join our team and convert audio and video content into text. You’ll be responsible for transcribing recordings, ensuring all dialogue, speaker labels, and background noises are accurately noted. You’ll ensure the transcription process is precise, capturing every detail, including speaker names, timestamps, and non-verbal cues. You’ll ensure your transcriptions meet company standards, including accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and adherence to formatting guidelines. You’ll be expected to meet deadlines, delivering error-free transcriptions in a timely manner. You’ll manage multiple transcription projects, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of work. You’ll assist in the creation of specialized transcriptions for legal, medical, and technical content as required. You’ll ensure that all transcripts are delivered within agreed-upon deadlines, managing your time and workload effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay focused during long sessions—transcription requires mental stamina and active listening.
• Continuously improve grammar, formatting, and typing skills to boost speed and polish.
• Stay organized with file naming, version control, and document delivery formats (e.g., DOCX, TXT, PDF).
• Mark unclear audio with timestamps or tags (e.g., [inaudible], [crosstalk]) and follow up when clarification is needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive or private information, especially when working with legal, medical, or corporate content.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working with different types of content — interviews, podcasts, legal, medical, or academic.
• Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail when transcribing audio or video files.
• Experience using timestamps, speaker tags, and formatting tools efficiently.
• Can follow style guides such as verbatim or clean-read depending on client requirements.
