We’re hiring a Journalist / Copywriter Trainee to help us report real stories — no experience needed, just curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to writing with truth and clarity. You’ll assist in writing newsletters, product updates, and value-packed emails that don’t sound robotic or salesy. We’ll teach you how to simplify actions, reduce friction, and write text that helps users without overwhelming them. You’ll learn how to take raw ideas, voice notes, or transcripts and shape them into sharp, readable pieces. Expect to draft quickly, experiment with phrasing, and learn how to make machine-generated drafts feel alive and brand-aligned. You’ll get experience interviewing people, pulling quotes, writing follow-up questions, and editing for tone and accuracy. We’ll guide you in using AI as a creative partner — not a shortcut — and teach you how to preserve quality while speeding up production. You’ll help write articles, product stories, bios, content for social media, and even brand manifestos. We’ll teach you how to work with briefs, deadlines, and feedback — and how to revise fast without losing your voice.

Basic Qualifications:

• Balance creative freedom with messaging goals, timelines, and legal requirements.
• Write headlines, subject lines, and social copy that grab attention without being clickbait.
• Be ready to adjust or rewrite pieces based on feedback, metrics, or shifting priorities.
• Pitch story ideas that feel fresh, relevant, and aligned with brand or publication direction.
• Turn complex subjects into content that feels accessible, interesting, and human.

Preferred:

• Organized in managing content calendars, drafts, feedback, and final delivery timelines.
• Comfortable conducting interviews, sourcing quotes, and verifying facts for credibility and accuracy.
• Can adapt brand tone and voice consistently across all written content.
• Experienced in using content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Ghost, or Webflow.
• Knows how to write calls to action, summaries, and structured intros that hook readers.
