Description:
We’re looking for an Online Community Support specialist who knows that behind every username is a real person — and you treat them that way. In this role, you’ll be the friendly bridge between our brand and our audience, welcoming new members, answering questions, and encouraging conversations that keep our community thriving. You’ll moderate discussions, respond to comments, resolve member concerns, and make sure our community guidelines are followed with fairness and empathy. You’ll help manage community guidelines, encourage respectful engagement, and step in when conversations need redirection or support. But you won’t just be reacting — you’ll also be sparking engagement with polls, prompts, shoutouts, and creative ideas that help the space come alive. This role isn’t just about moderation — it’s about creating meaningful engagement: you’ll start conversations, highlight member wins, encourage contributions, and keep the energy alive even on quiet days.
Basic Qualifications:
- Create or curate memes, polls, or lightweight content that fits the tone of the space without trying too hard.
- Document best practices and tone guidelines for other team members or future community hires.
- Respond to user concerns or frustrations with empathy and clarity, offering help or context where possible.
- Foster conversations by asking thoughtful questions, sharing updates, and spotlighting community wins.
- Moderate posts and comments when needed, using a tone that’s firm but fair—not robotic.
Preferred:
- Familiar with moderation tools and platforms like Discord, Facebook Groups, Reddit, or Circle.
- Comfortable analyzing user sentiment or compiling feedback from the community.
- Can communicate with users respectfully, even in tense or critical situations.
- Experience engaging with users in online communities, forums, or Discord servers.
- Comfortable responding to questions, solving minor issues, and redirecting where needed.
Benefits:
- We support your mental health — mod breaks, vibe check calls, no guilt for logging off.
- Celebrate good threads, meaningful interactions, and even wholesome memes.
- You’ll help real people feel heard, supported, and part of something.
- You’ll help shape community guidelines, events, and traditions.
- Your GIFs, emojis, and personality are not only allowed — they’re encouraged.
You know how to de-escalate tense situations, give thoughtful replies, and maintain a calm, professional voice — even when things get noisy. You’re someone who can manage multiple threads without getting overwhelmed, and you’re just as comfortable behind the scenes organizing resources as you are jumping into a group chat. If you’ve ever stayed in a group chat just because the vibe was right — and you helped make it that way — we’d love to have you on our team. Let’s create a digital space where people feel seen, valued, and excited to show up. Let’s build a community that feels like more than just a place to scroll — let’s make it feel like home. Let’s grow a community where people feel seen, safe, and inspired to stay.
