Description:

We’re looking for a detail-driven and resourceful Online Research Assistant to help gather, analyze, and organize information for key projects. You’ll conduct research across a variety of platforms, from academic databases to news sites, to gather relevant and trustworthy information. You’ll sift through articles, reports, and databases to extract relevant data and present it in an easy-to-understand format. You’ll synthesize research into clear, concise summaries, making sure the most important points are highlighted for the team. You’ll assist with market research, competitor analysis, and finding actionable trends that can guide decision-making. You’ll use various online tools, including search engines, academic databases, and industry reports, to conduct thorough research. You’ll ensure all sources are credible, verified, and aligned with the research goals, providing accurate and trustworthy data. You’ll help with both qualitative and quantitative research, depending on the project’s needs. You’ll use your analytical skills to identify patterns and trends that can influence strategy and business planning.

Basic Qualifications:

• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when handling private or proprietary research tasks.
• Update existing research reports or databases with fresh info as it becomes available.
• Continuously refine your research skills, tools, and strategies to improve speed and accuracy over time.
• Turn unstructured requests (“Find me examples of X in Y industry”) into structured research projects with clear deliverables.
• Support content creators or strategists by finding real-life examples, quotes, statistics, or visuals to enrich their work.

Preferred:

• Background or interest in communication, journalism, market research, or academia.
• Can track changes, update files, and keep research organized for collaborative teams.
• Has supported blog writing, business planning, outreach, or product development with research.
• Comfortable using Google search operators, databases, and industry-specific sources.
• Knows how to fact-check and cross-verify from multiple sources before sharing conclusions.
