Description:

We’re hiring a Public Transport Inspector to focus on the technical inspection of vehicles — perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented, mechanically curious, and committed to public safety standards. You’ll conduct routine inspections of buses, trams, or metro trains to ensure mechanical and structural components meet operational requirements. You’ll monitor train arrival and departure times, checking for delays, mechanical sounds, or irregularities in platform behavior. You’ll assist in checking lighting, signage, and platform systems to confirm visibility and functionality during low-light hours. You’ll coordinate with station staff, security, and control centers during crowding, signal issues, or other disruptions. You’ll respond to incidents such as breakdowns, delays, overcrowding, or safety complaints with professionalism and composure. You’ll help enforce quiet hours and support operators in handling noise complaints or inappropriate behavior onboard. You’ll check fare barriers, ticket machines, and validator units for proper function and report malfunctions quickly. You’ll document any violations of metro regulations, such as fare evasion, disorderly conduct, or platform trespassing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Use handheld devices or apps to verify digital tickets or log inspection data accurately.
  • Conduct random or scheduled inspections onboard or at stations during various shifts.
  • Ensure accessibility standards are met for passengers with disabilities or mobility needs.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, violations, or irregularities observed during inspections.
  • Contribute to service improvement by reporting recurring issues or rider feedback.

Preferred:

  • Able to interpret schedules, maps, and service zones to verify route accuracy and stop coverage.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, fare systems, and ticketing technologies including contactless payment methods.
  • Able to check passenger tickets or passes, verify fare validity, and issue warnings or fines when necessary.
  • Open to working rotating shifts, including weekends, early mornings, or late nights.
  • Familiar with monitoring bus, train, tram, or metro services to ensure compliance with operational standards.

Benefits:

  • Your work ensures safety — you're making sure passengers travel safely every day.
  • Flexible shifts — full-time, part-time, and rotating shifts available, so you can find the balance that works for you.
  • Work in different environments — you’ll get to work on buses, trains, stations, and more.
  • Ongoing training and development — we support your growth with regular updates on safety standards and procedures.
  • Opportunities to advance — from inspector to supervisor or management roles, the path is clear.

You’ll document nighttime activity, incident logs, and inspection summaries with detail and accuracy. You’ll be responsible for logging inspection results digitally, issuing status tags, and scheduling follow-up checks when needed. You’ll participate in drills and simulated emergency scenarios to prepare for fire, power outages, or evacuation procedures. You’ll rotate shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on traffic and inspection targets. You’ll be mentored by senior inspectors who will show you how to balance authority with respect and efficiency with fairness. You’ll be mentored by senior inspectors experienced in night operations and rapid response situations. No experience is required — just confidence, honesty, and the ability to stand for long periods and stay calm under pressure. No prior technical experience is required — just a strong eye for detail, willingness to learn, and comfort around machinery. If you're ready to help keep public vehicles reliable, safe, and road-ready, we’re ready to train you as a transport inspector.
