Description:

We’re seeking a Cashier who brings consistency, courtesy, and confidence to every transaction — someone who understands that checkout isn’t just about speed, but about closing each visit on a high note. You’ll receive full training on how to use the register, scan items, process payments, and handle simple returns. You’ll begin by shadowing experienced staff and gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence grows. You’ll stay focused during busy rushes and keep your station clean, organized, and ready for the next guest. You’ll assist with bagging items, answering product questions, and helping direct customers if they need support in other departments. You’ll follow proper cash handling procedures, maintain register accuracy, and alert supervisors if issues arise. You’ll stay calm under pressure, especially during peak times, and help reduce wait times without rushing guests. You’ll be part of a team that values communication, teamwork, and keeping lines moving efficiently without making anyone feel rushed. You’ll restock small items near the register and help maintain the appearance of the front-of-store area.

Basic Qualifications:

• Take initiative to tidy your area during slow times or lend a hand elsewhere.
• Balance friendliness with efficiency—be fast, but never rude or robotic.
• Promote loyalty programs, discounts, or upsells when appropriate without being pushy.
• Provide correct change and issue receipts with a smile and clear communication.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors if issues or unusual transactions arise.

Preferred:

• Comfortable interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Values honesty, reliability, and consistency in every transaction.
• Can assist with bagging purchases, gift wrapping, or packaging fragile items safely.
• Willing to help de-escalate conflicts calmly and refer customers to supervisors when needed.
• Able to handle cash, credit/debit transactions, mobile payments, and provide accurate change.
