Description:

We’re looking for a motivated Translator Trainee to join our team and help bridge the gap between languages in digital environments. You’ll assist in translating interface text: buttons, tooltips, error messages, notifications, and onboarding flows. We’ll teach you how to keep translations short, consistent, and intuitive — so they fit design without losing clarity. You’ll learn the difference between transcription, translation, and localization — and how to adapt meaning for different audiences. ” Expect to translate UI copy, adapt tone for different markets, and avoid wordy phrasing that breaks layouts. We’ll show you how to handle placeholders, gender-neutral terms, plural logic, and platform-specific constraints. We’ll guide you through character limits, subtitle rhythm, line breaks, and how to keep things readable on screen. You’ll practice translating real content for blogs, product descriptions, presentations, or customer support. You’ll join feedback sessions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and learn how language shapes user experience.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adapt content so it makes cultural and linguistic sense for the target audience—not just a word-for-word swap.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and tone across large or recurring projects.
• Stay current with language trends, regional variations, and industry-specific vocabulary.
• Translate captions, UI elements, documents, and everything in between as needed.
• Handle different formats—documents, subtitles, websites, apps, or even casual chat conversations.

Preferred:

• Background or interest in linguistics, foreign languages, international relations, or content localization.
• Willing to take translation tests or complete sample assignments for quality assessment.
• Values precision, cultural sensitivity, and consistency in every translation project.
• Able to maintain meaning, tone, and context during translation across various subject areas.
• Open to collaboration with editors, project managers, or localization engineers.
