Description:

We’re hiring a Caregiver to provide compassionate support for clients in palliative or end-of-life care — ideal for someone who can offer calm, respectful presence during life’s most delicate moments. You’ll monitor clients through the night, providing assistance as needed with repositioning, bathroom trips, or anxiety relief. You’ll prepare light meals, help manage special diets, and ensure regular hydration throughout the day. You’ll work alongside nurses, hospice teams, and family members to honor the individual’s wishes and care plan. You’ll support light housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, and tidying up to maintain a safe and clean living environment. You’ll support household tasks like vacuuming, laundry, and tidying to create a peaceful, clean space. You’ll provide steady companionship through listening, reminiscing, watching TV together, or reading aloud. You’ll offer reassurance or redirection to clients who wake up confused, disoriented, or frightened in the dark. You’ll be trained in fall prevention, nighttime mobility support, and gentle repositioning techniques.

Basic Qualifications:

• Provide end-of-life comfort and palliative support when working in hospice or long-term care.
• Stay informed on best practices in caregiving, dementia support, or special needs assistance.
• Track activities, meals, mood, and care tasks in logs if required by family or agency.
• Provide companionship through conversation, games, walks, or simply being present.
• Use equipment like walkers, lifts, or safety rails properly and safely.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to small details like hydration, sleep habits, or emotional changes that may affect well-being.
• Can support individuals with dementia, limited mobility, or chronic conditions with patience and attentiveness.
• Pays close attention to hygiene, skin care, and dietary needs based on client routines or medical recommendations.
• Comfortable using home care documentation tools or apps for shift updates and reporting.
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, or 24-hour care rotations.
