Description:

We’re hiring a Plumber Trainee to assist with heating system installations and maintenance — ideal for someone who’s technically curious, safety-conscious, and wants to master the systems that keep buildings warm. You’ll begin by shadowing senior maintenance plumbers in apartment buildings, learning how to diagnose and respond to common household plumbing issues. You’ll assist with carrying tools, loading materials, and preparing the work area before repairs or installations begin. You’ll learn how to mark walls and floors for drilling, anchoring, and pipe routing through studs and slabs. You’ll be trained to install water lines, waste systems, vent stacks, and pipe sleeves with correct slope and spacing. You’ll support drain cleaning using snakes, augers, or hydro-jetting equipment to clear stubborn clogs fast. You’ll be taught to use tools like pipe cutters, torches, augers, wrenches, and pressure testers with safety and care. You’ll assist in installing underfloor heating, wall-mounted panels, or baseboard units in both residential and commercial spaces. You’ll assist in working within service rooms, crawlspaces, and vertical shafts to maintain central plumbing infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work in various environments—tight spaces, outdoors, basements—often in challenging conditions.
• Train or supervise apprentices and junior plumbers when applicable.
• Stay current with plumbing technologies, eco-friendly systems, and efficient fixtures.
• Cut, assemble, and seal pipe sections using welding, soldering, or press-fit techniques.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

Preferred:

• Thrives in active, tool-based environments where every project presents a new challenge.
• Open to using mobile apps, digital invoicing, or plumbing CRM tools for job tracking.
• Proficient in using tools such as pipe cutters, wrenches, threaders, plungers, augers, and soldering equipment.
• Able to provide accurate cost estimates, timelines, and scope of work before beginning a job.
• Follows safety procedures when working with hot water lines, gas lines, or sewage systems.
