We’re inviting you to step into the world of tailoring — a craft built on care, detail, and tradition. As a Tailor Trainee, you don’t need any experience, just patience, focus, and the willingness to learn slowly and properly. That’s fine — all you need is steady focus, a careful eye, and a love for clothing that fits right. You’ll learn how different materials behave — from cotton and wool to silk and synthetics. You’ll help prepare garments for fittings, steam out wrinkles, and hand over freshly pressed pieces with pride. As your confidence grows, you’ll get hands-on with sewing machines and learn how to stitch straight, strong, and clean. We’ll teach you how to press garments properly, mark alterations accurately, and avoid common beginner mistakes. Your first stitches may be small — fixing linings, adjusting cuffs — but they’ll be the start of something lasting. You’ll also assist with fittings, where you’ll see how small tweaks dramatically improve comfort and look.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ultimately, craft clothes that feel personal, fit flawlessly, and bring confidence to every client who wears them.
• Perform basic embroidery, patchwork, or design embellishments when requested by clients or fashion stylists.
• Track materials and supplies needed for upcoming projects, helping maintain stock of threads, linings, and zippers.
• Train apprentices or assistants on stitching, fitting, and finishing techniques when applicable.
• Handle minor repairs such as fixing zippers, replacing buttons, patching holes, or re-stitching seams quickly and efficiently.

Preferred:

• Comfortable interacting with customers for fittings and design consultations in a professional manner.
• Experience working with various fabrics including cotton, wool, silk, denim, and synthetic blends.
• Familiar with sewing machines, sergers, overlockers, and hand-stitching tools.
• Able to take accurate body measurements and translate them into well-fitted garments.
• Organized with workstations, thread and fabric inventory, and client orders.
