Description:

We’re hiring a Plumber Trainee to assist with heating system installations and maintenance — ideal for someone who’s technically curious, safety-conscious, and wants to master the systems that keep buildings warm. You’ll begin by learning how to service and install boilers, radiators, circulation pumps, and thermostat controls. You’ll assist in cutting, measuring, and fitting PVC, copper, and PEX piping under supervision. You’ll be trained to diagnose issues on the spot and assist with temporary fixes that stabilize the situation. You’ll support preventative maintenance tasks like checking water heaters, inspecting main valves, and clearing floor drains. You’ll observe how to read blueprints, locate shut-off valves, and plan pipe routes in new or existing structures. You’ll support pressure testing, sealing, and inspecting all connections before drywall or flooring is installed. You’ll be taught to identify signs of wear in aging systems and recommend when replacement is more efficient than repair. You’ll learn how to troubleshoot common issues like leaks, clogs, low water pressure, or noisy pipes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Cut, assemble, and seal pipe sections using welding, soldering, or press-fit techniques.
• Communicate clearly with clients, team members, and suppliers to keep projects on track.
• Wear protective gear and use ladders, scaffolding, or trenching tools when required.
• Interpret blueprints and building codes to plan pipe layouts and drainage systems accurately.
• Train or supervise apprentices and junior plumbers when applicable.

Preferred:

• Open to using mobile apps, digital invoicing, or plumbing CRM tools for job tracking.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials, stand or kneel for extended periods, and work outdoors or in harsh conditions.
• Proficient in using tools such as pipe cutters, wrenches, threaders, plungers, augers, and soldering equipment.
• Comfortable diagnosing leaks, clogs, pressure issues, and other plumbing malfunctions accurately and efficiently.
• Able to provide accurate cost estimates, timelines, and scope of work before beginning a job.
