Description:

We’re hiring a Paramedic Trainee to support disaster response teams — ideal for someone who wants to learn how emergency care works in high-stress, unpredictable environments. You’ll assist with safely transporting stable patients between hospitals, clinics, rehab centers, or specialized care facilities. You’ll assist with preparing trauma kits, oxygen tanks, triage tags, and field equipment for rapid deployment. You’ll be taught how to help establish field care zones, prioritize patients, and support paramedics during mass-casualty triage. You’ll learn how to monitor patients during transit, recording vitals, comfort levels, and any changes in condition. You’ll assist in lifting patients from hazardous environments and supporting their transfer to emergency vehicles. You’ll assist in lifting and moving patients safely, following ergonomic techniques and team coordination. You’ll assist with coordinating responses to emergencies in loud, crowded, and sometimes chaotic spaces. You’ll support team hygiene routines by cleaning and disinfecting the ambulance between transports and after patient contact.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stabilize patients for transport and monitor vital signs en route to medical facilities.
• Stay physically and mentally prepared for long shifts, night work, or back-to-back emergencies.
• Reassure and support patients and their families in stressful, traumatic, or emotional circumstances.
• Keep certifications like CPR, ACLS, and PHTLS current through regular training and education.
• Provide clear handover reports to hospital personnel for smooth transitions in care.

Preferred:

• Proficient in performing CPR, administering medications, using defibrillators, and managing airways.
• Wants to grow into roles like Flight Paramedic, EMS Supervisor, or Critical Care Transport Specialist.
• Knows how to safely lift and transport patients using stretchers, backboards, and proper body mechanics.
• Thrives in unpredictable, high-stakes environments where readiness and skill save lives.
• Experience providing emergency medical care in high-stress, time-sensitive situations such as accidents or cardiac events.
