Description:

We’re looking for a sharp and level-headed Online Chat Moderator to help us maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere across our digital platforms. You’ll be the frontline of our community — greeting new users, answering questions, and diffusing tension before it escalates. Your job isn’t just to silence negativity — it’s to help foster a space where real conversations can happen. You’ll be the one spotting inappropriate behavior, answering common questions, guiding users, and enforcing rules with fairness and empathy. Your day might involve answering repetitive questions, muting disruptive users, or quietly stepping in to stop a flame war before it starts. You’ll respond to common questions, remove spam or abusive content, and help guide user behavior in a way that reflects our values.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Respond quickly to inappropriate behavior, spam, or rule violations using clear, fair moderation actions.
  • Help develop or refine moderation guidelines based on evolving community needs.
  • Train junior moderators or community volunteers when needed, sharing tips and best practices.
  • Offer real-time feedback to content creators or streamers when relevant (e.g. “Chat is confused” or “Too fast”).
  • Stay up-to-date with platform policies (Twitch, Discord, YouTube, etc.) and community tool updates.

Preferred:

  • Comfortable with online communities, social media platforms, or forum-style chats.
  • Enjoys helping others, resolving misunderstandings, and promoting positive interaction.
  • Willing to work in shifts and collaborate with other moderators or team members.
  • Willingness to learn moderation tools, guidelines, and escalation procedures.
  • Currently studying communication, psychology, media, or related fields.

Benefits:

  • We celebrate mod wins — fastest mute, best comeback, most calming response.
  • Flexible shifts — perfect for night owls, early birds, or timezone jugglers.
  • No calls, no cameras — just your words and quick fingers.
  • You’ll help keep digital spaces safe, inclusive, and (mostly) drama-free.
  • Monthly “mod parties” — yes, even quiet heroes deserve fun.

If you've ever been a part of a healthy online community, you know how much good moderation matters — now's your chance to shape that experience for others. You’ll need to multitask between conversations, use moderation tools efficiently, and maintain a strong understanding of our brand voice and community values. If you’ve moderated before — great. Being a moderator also means setting an example — people will look to you for cues on how to behave. If you’ve ever thought, “This space could be better if someone just stepped in,” this is your moment to be that someone.
