Description:
We’re hiring a Commercial Locksmith to install, maintain, and troubleshoot lock systems in office buildings, hotels, schools, and warehouses — perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented, discreet, and experienced with large-scale security systems. You’ll work with facility managers, building supervisors, and security teams to ensure locks and access points are always functioning and secure. You’ll be trained to pick locks, rekey cylinders, cut keys, and install or repair deadbolts, knobs, and access systems. You’ll assist with creating and maintaining master key hierarchies, issuing access levels by department or personnel. You’ll troubleshoot connection issues, app pairing problems, and battery-related concerns both during and after installation. You’ll rotate on-call shifts — including nights, weekends, and holidays — to provide 24/7 availability to clients in need. You’ll maintain your service vehicle with all tools, blanks, lubricants, and hardware needed for a variety of jobs. You’ll work with tow companies, insurance providers, dealerships, and direct customers depending on the call source. You’ll maintain a clean, branded appearance and be ready to explain features in a friendly and clear way.
Basic Qualifications:
- Install, repair, and replace locks on doors, windows, safes, and security systems.
- Coordinate with property managers, police, or building contractors on complex lock systems.
- Stay up to date with advances in digital locks, biometric systems, and electronic access control.
- Keep a well-organized toolset and mobile workshop if working in a field-service capacity.
- Maintain detailed service records, invoices, and logs of key codes or lock types when required.
Preferred:
- Capable of troubleshooting keyless entry systems and integrating locks with alarm or camera systems.
- Enjoys working with their hands, solving puzzles, and restoring access or peace of mind.
- Willing to assist with safe moving, lock retrofits, or large building rekeying projects.
- Comfortable interpreting lock diagrams, manufacturer specs, or key code charts during service calls.
- Able to install or service door closers, panic bars, master key systems, and high-security lock systems.
Benefits:
- No two days are the same — residential, commercial, and automotive work.
- Get to troubleshoot and solve problems every day — there’s no room for boredom.
- Your skills are unique — you’re the expert everyone turns to in a crisis.
- Opportunities for on-the-job training and certification — stay sharp and licensed.
- Opportunities to specialize — master key systems, security systems, or automotive locksmithing.
You’ll be expected to communicate clearly, build trust, and maintain professionalism with customers during stressful situations. You’ll use scanning devices and software to program keys and remotes while keeping up with vehicle security updates. You’ll stay updated on the latest devices, firmware changes, and compatibility issues through regular tech briefings. You’ll help clients feel empowered and secure with their new systems — not confused or overwhelmed by the tech. You’ll assist in system resets, code recoveries, and lockouts caused by user error or app malfunctions. You’ll receive support and mentoring from senior techs who know the ins and outs of nearly every vehicle system. No prior experience is required — just good hands, logical thinking, and the willingness to learn the trade from the ground up. If you're ready to unlock doors and solve car key chaos, we’re ready to train you as an Automotive Locksmith.
