Description:

We’re offering an Actuary Trainee position for someone who loves working with numbers, patterns, and predictions — no experience needed, just a sharp mind and curiosity about risk management. You’ll assist in analyzing datasets to identify risk patterns and financial trends across insurance or pension portfolios. We’ll teach you how to build basic actuarial models using spreadsheets, statistical tools, and actuarial software. You’ll help assess risks in areas like insurance, pensions, or investment products, depending on the team you join. Expect to work with large spreadsheets, probability tables, and actuarial software tools that support long-term forecasting. You’ll support quarterly updates, regulatory filings, and model validations that directly inform business strategy. We’ll guide you through actuarial concepts like mortality tables, discounting, and loss reserving. You’ll participate in scenario modeling and learn how small assumptions can lead to big financial impacts. We’ll show you how to stress-test assumptions and identify weaknesses in financial models before they become risks.

Basic Qualifications:

• Train or mentor junior actuarial staff and help them prepare for certification exams.
• Support internal audit or risk committees by preparing clear and concise reports.
• Take a proactive role in identifying risks before they become expensive problems.
• Adapt models for use in new product lines or geographies as the business grows.
• Perform scenario testing to evaluate the impact of events like inflation spikes, market crashes, or demographic shifts.

Preferred:

• Able to analyze large data sets and interpret trends for insurance, pensions, or investment decisions.
• Willing to assist in preparing reports, presentations, and technical documentation for stakeholders.
• Comfortable using tools like Excel (with advanced functions), SAS, Prophet, or VBA for data manipulation.
• Can contribute to product development, solvency modeling, or strategic planning initiatives.
• Wants to grow into roles like Associate Actuary, Pricing Analyst, or Risk Consultant.
