Description:

We’re hiring a talented Podcast Editor to join our team and help create high-quality, engaging audio content for our podcast. You’ll be responsible for editing podcast episodes, ensuring clarity, balance, and overall high production standards. You’ll collaborate with podcast hosts and producers to understand the desired tone, pacing, and style for each episode. You’ll clean up audio files, remove background noise, and enhance sound quality to ensure professional-grade recordings. You’ll add sound effects, transitions, and music where needed to improve the overall listening experience and make it more engaging. You’ll manage multiple podcast episodes simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality audio content on time. You’ll work with the production team to incorporate feedback and ensure final edits meet the desired vision for the episode. You’ll ensure that each episode meets technical specifications, optimizing audio for different platforms and devices.

Basic Qualifications:

• Edit for story and pacing—not just sound—cutting tangents, awkward pauses, or redundant segments without losing the natural flow.
• Ensure all content meets podcast platform guidelines (Apple, Spotify, etc.) and follows copyright best practices.
• Write or edit basic show notes, timestamps, and episode titles that reflect key takeaways and improve discoverability.
• Perform quality control checks before publishing to catch issues like echo, misalignment, or missing segments.
• Help standardize the podcast’s sound—keeping tone, volume, and pacing consistent across episodes and seasons.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to detail in removing unintentional mistakes, repetitions, or off-topic content.
• Familiar with editing different podcast formats such as interviews, solo episodes, roundtables, or storytelling.
• Can incorporate remote recordings and fix sync or quality issues from Zoom, Riverside, or Zencastr.
• Understands the importance of brand tone, pacing, and audience expectations for each podcast.
• Capable of handling fast turnarounds when needed without sacrificing quality.

You’ll provide guidance and support to new podcast editors or team members to ensure a consistent, high-quality output.
