Description:

We’re hiring a Translator Trainee to help localize digital products — no experience needed, just strong language sense, attention to detail, and curiosity about how apps and websites talk to users. You’ll assist in translating interface text: buttons, tooltips, error messages, notifications, and onboarding flows. We’ll teach you how to adapt tone and context — not just translate words, but preserve intent and cultural nuance. You’ll learn the difference between transcription, translation, and localization — and how to adapt meaning for different audiences. ” Expect to translate UI copy, adapt tone for different markets, and avoid wordy phrasing that breaks layouts. We’ll show you how to handle placeholders, gender-neutral terms, plural logic, and platform-specific constraints. We’ll guide you through common challenges: idioms, slang, technical terms, formal vs informal tone, and regional differences. You’ll practice translating real content for blogs, product descriptions, presentations, or customer support. We’ll teach you how to maintain glossaries and translation memories, ensuring consistency across screens and updates.

Basic Qualifications:

• Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and tone across large or recurring projects.
• Handle different formats—documents, subtitles, websites, apps, or even casual chat conversations.
• Contribute to quality control by reviewing peer translations or providing feedback when asked.
• Flag content that may not translate well culturally and offer localized alternatives.
• Be flexible—some projects are casual and fast-paced, others require meticulous attention to tone.

Preferred:

• Open to collaboration with editors, project managers, or localization engineers.
• Familiar with proofreading workflows and quality assurance standards in the language industry.
• Wants to grow into roles like Localization Specialist, Copy Editor, or Multilingual Content Manager.
• Understands how to adapt idioms, expressions, or cultural references for target audiences.
