Description:
We’re looking for a Video Editing Intern who’s ready to grow from “I’ve edited a few things” to “I know how to build a story on a timeline. You know when to speed up a shot, when to pause, and when to let silence speak louder than any transition. You’ll help sort through hours of raw footage, cut out filler, balance audio levels, and shape conversations into something engaging and watchable. You’ll learn how to punch in on faces, cut out dead space, and stack visuals to keep the energy high. You understand pacing, rhythm, and energy — and you know how to shape it around the viewer’s attention span. You’ll organize footage, sync audio, clean color, and add motion or music that elevates, not distracts. You’ll work in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci — and we’ll teach you how to stay organized when timelines get long. You’ll help prep social cutdowns from full episodes, pulling strong quotes or segments that work in 30–90 second formats. You’ll learn how to deal with echo, dead air, awkward pauses, and “uhhh... Would I share this?
Basic Qualifications:
- Add motion graphics, titles, sound effects, background music, and color correction to enhance visual quality and viewer experience.
- Edit for emotional impact—making sure pacing, music, and visuals support the intended tone and message.
- Collaborate with social media or marketing teams to adapt content for paid ads, email campaigns, or landing pages.
- Export final videos in various formats, aspect ratios, and resolutions depending on platform requirements (e.g., 16:9, 9:16, 1:1).
- Collaborate with content creators, marketers, or creative directors to understand the vision and deliver according to brand style.
Preferred:
- Organized with file management, version control, and naming conventions for projects.
- Pays attention to frame composition, aspect ratios, and platform-specific requirements (e.g. 9:16, 1:1, 16:9).
- Can work with b-roll, interview cuts, stock footage, or client-provided assets.
- Understands the importance of storytelling and emotional engagement in video editing.
- Experience adding motion graphics, subtitles, or animated transitions is a plus.
Benefits:
- Opportunities to grow into senior editor, creative lead, or motion designer roles.
- If you’ve ever watched a video five times to adjust a single frame — you belong with us.
- And yes, we’ll absolutely celebrate when a client says: “This is exactly what I was hoping for.”
- Flexible hours — edit when you’re in flow, whether that’s 7am or 2am.
- Async-first culture — work at your pace, get feedback clearly, and focus without constant meetings.
You’ll be encouraged to experiment — not just follow templates, but bring your own flair when it fits. You’ll pitch ideas, suggest cuts, and collaborate like someone who actually cares how the final piece lands. You’ll improve your skills not just technically, but editorially — learning to feel pacing, build tension, and know when a moment needs to breathe. You’ll see how professional teams hit deadlines, manage creative pressure, and still find ways to have fun between exports. You’ll become faster, more organized, and more confident in your ability to take messy input and turn it into clean deliverables. You take pride in edits that “feel right,” even when no one can explain why — but you can. If you love timelines, tight cuts, and the thrill of making a video *feel* right — this is your editing playground. If you love timelines longer than 10 minutes, storytelling through pacing, and fixing “we’ll edit this later” moments — this internship is for you. If you think in clips, hear beats in your head, and genuinely enjoy finding “the hook” — this internship was made for you.
