Description:

We’re looking for a diligent and resourceful Online Research Assistant to help gather, analyze, and summarize data for various projects. You’ll conduct research across a variety of platforms, from academic databases to news sites, to gather relevant and trustworthy information. You’ll track down relevant, credible information, making sure it’s up-to-date and aligned with the team’s needs. You’ll assist in analyzing competitors, tracking market trends, and identifying opportunities for business growth. You’ll ensure all research is up-to-date, cross-referencing multiple sources to ensure accuracy and relevance. You’ll identify trends and patterns within data, helping guide our strategic decisions and future actions. You’ll work closely with the team to understand research needs and deliver findings in an organized and accessible manner. You’ll work across a variety of industries and topics, developing expertise in each area to support our diverse needs. You’ll track progress on ongoing research projects, ensuring all tasks are completed by deadlines and according to specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

• Assist in building lead lists, contact sheets, or outreach databases by researching names, roles, and emails from trusted tools.
• Support a variety of teams—marketing, product, content, or operations—by delivering research tailored to their needs.
• Verify facts across multiple sources to ensure reliability, and flag anything that looks questionable or outdated.
• Keep backups of your work and links in case pages change or disappear later.
• Continuously refine your research skills, tools, and strategies to improve speed and accuracy over time.

Preferred:

• Can summarize long articles or datasets into concise, digestible insights.
• Background or interest in communication, journalism, market research, or academia.
• Knows how to fact-check and cross-verify from multiple sources before sharing conclusions.
• Values accuracy, curiosity, and ethical information gathering.
• Knows how to spot biases or inconsistencies in sources or information.
