Description:
We’re accepting applicants for a Medical Laboratory Technician internship — ideal for someone who values structure, precision, and a methodical approach to learning. You may be just starting out, but we’ll treat you like a future professional from day one — with guidance, structure, and respect. You’ll operate lab equipment with confidence, from centrifuges to analyzers — and keep it all clean, calibrated, and ready. You’ll assist in handling real patient samples — blood, urine, swabs — and learn the importance of accuracy at every stage. You’ll observe how professionals maintain strict compliance with internal SOPs, governmental standards, and accreditation requirements (e. You’ll start with basics: labeling tubes, organizing paperwork, prepping stations, shadowing sample processing, and cleaning equipment with care. You’ll check your work twice, catch what others miss, and raise a hand when something feels off. You’ll get familiar with the importance of timing, temperature, labeling, documentation, and how small lapses can delay big decisions. You’ll communicate clearly with your team and know when to ask for a second set of eyes. You’ll learn how to log results, flag unusual findings, and communicate clearly when something needs a second opinion.
Basic Qualifications:
- Handle emergency or STAT samples with urgency, prioritizing workflow to meet clinical needs in time-sensitive situations.
- Work rotating shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed in hospital or clinical lab settings that operate 24/7.
- Prepare specimens for transport or referral to external labs when specialized testing is required, following chain-of-custody protocols.
- Stay calm and focused during high-pressure situations like outbreaks, lab surges, or critical result processing.
- Ensure all documentation is completed clearly and accurately for regulatory compliance and patient safety.
Preferred:
- Can assist in quality control checks and recognize deviations that may affect results.
- Comfortable with both manual techniques and automated systems.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g. CLIA, HIPAA).
- Works well independently or under the supervision of a pathologist or senior technologist.
- Experience performing routine laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, or clinical chemistry.
Benefits:
- And yes, we’ll make sure your equipment works, your efforts are appreciated, and your career has room to grow — one clean slide or calibrated centrifuge at a time.
- Structured shifts that respect your focus and minimize distractions — because precision needs peace.
- You’ll never be rushed without reason — accuracy always comes before speed.
- Your eye for detail is valued more than speed — this is about quality first, always.
- We believe lab work is essential, not invisible — and we treat our technicians like the professionals they are.
You’ll help maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure that nothing essential runs out when it matters most. You’ll grow at your own pace, with encouragement, feedback, and the full support of a team that remembers what it’s like to be new. You’ll contribute to internal quality control programs and help your lab stay audit-ready at all times. You’ll follow every protocol because safety isn’t optional when you work this close to real life. You won’t just run tests — you’ll ensure the integrity of every result that leaves your workstation. You may work quietly, but your impact speaks volumes through every result you deliver. If you’re ready to learn with heart, stay humble, and build something meaningful from the ground up — we’d love to be your first team. You’ll begin as an observer, but you’re expected to grow into a contributor — someone trusted to perform basic procedures to protocol. If you’re ready to build serious technical habits, work under strict standards, and grow in a professional medical lab setting — we’re ready to train you properly.
