Description:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Elementary School Teacher Intern who’s ready to step into the classroom and grow through real-world experience. As a trainee, you’ll observe real classroom dynamics, support students in their day-to-day learning, and gradually take on more responsibilities with guidance. You’ll greet students, learn their names, and slowly become a familiar, trusted face they look forward to seeing. You’ll help manage classroom routines, maintain structure, and gently guide students in their behavior and focus. You’ll encourage students when they get stuck, listen when they need to talk, and celebrate their little victories. You’ll support students one-on-one when they need extra help — with reading, math, or even just tying their shoes. You’ll help create a classroom environment where every child feels safe, respected, and excited to learn. We’ll coach you in classroom management strategies, positive reinforcement, and how to turn chaos into teachable moments. You’ll participate in creative projects, thematic units, and seasonal events that build community and school spirit.
Basic Qualifications:
- Encourage curiosity, collaboration, and kindness inside and outside the classroom.
- Be the kind of teacher they’ll remember not just for what you taught, but how you made them feel.
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, activities, and observations.
- Reflect on your own teaching and look for ways to improve and inspire.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects like math, reading, science, and social studies.
Preferred:
- Can communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and fellow educators.
- Background or passion in primary education, literacy, early childhood development, or pedagogy.
- Keeps up with curriculum standards and best practices in elementary education.
- Certified or licensed teacher with a background in elementary education, child development, or a related field.
- Able to adapt lesson plans in response to classroom dynamics or unforeseen challenges.
Benefits:
- Field trip support — from planning to chaperones, we’ve got you.
- We don’t expect perfection — we support progress and passion.
- We value joy as much as scores — play, discovery, and kindness matter here.
- Opportunities to grow — mentoring, leadership roles, and continued learning.
- You’ll be treated like a professional, not a babysitter.
You’ll keep records, write simple observations, and learn how data helps inform teaching choices. You’ll help supervise lunch and recess, using those unstructured moments to teach kindness and responsibility. You’ll begin to understand how to balance structure with flexibility and when to lead versus when to observe. We’ll offer feedback, encouragement, and mentorship every step of the way to help you grow. You’ll be treated as part of the team, not just an extra pair of hands — because your growth matters too. We believe future teachers learn best by being in the room, not just reading about it. This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a difference in children’s lives while learning the craft of teaching hands-on. Join our classroom, share your energy, and help us build a learning space where every student — and teacher — feels like they belong.
