Description:
We’re hiring a CNC Machine Operator Trainee for our night shift — someone who’s ready to learn, stay focused, and take real responsibility even when the shop is quiet. You’ll be responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring CNC machines to produce high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. You’ll be trained by day-shift machinists first, learning the machines, safety procedures, and how to run production step by step. You’ll load materials, inspect tools, calibrate settings, and make sure everything is aligned before the first cut is made. You’ll be trained to understand interface logic, alarms, real-time status readouts, and what to do when something blinks red instead of green. You’ll be taught how to listen to the machine, feel vibration through the handles, and know the early signs of tool failure before it ruins the part. You’ll learn how to read digital readouts, make minor offset adjustments, and stop the machine when something doesn’t sound right. You’ll be responsible for first-part inspection, documenting dimensions, and flagging anything out of spec before it becomes scrap. You’ll measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, and double-check your numbers before moving forward.
Basic Qualifications:
- Stay current with updates in CNC technology, machining techniques, and material handling procedures through ongoing learning.
- Ultimately, ensure precision parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely—supporting the backbone of modern manufacturing.
- Log production data, machine hours, and quality results in shop records or manufacturing systems for traceability.
- Train or assist junior operators when needed—sharing best practices and helping them build foundational machining skills.
- Help reduce waste by optimizing material usage, avoiding rework, and catching errors early in the production process.
Preferred:
- Willing to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workplace protocols strictly.
- Capable of maintaining clean, safe, and organized workstations.
- Open to working multiple shifts, including nights or weekends based on plant schedules.
- Knows how to enter or modify G-code and understands CNC programming basics.
- Able to follow job orders and production schedules with accuracy and attention to detail.
Benefits:
- Get paid weekly (yes, really) — because bills don’t wait till the 30th.
- If something breaks, you won’t be blamed — you’ll be supported.
- We don’t expect perfection on day one — we teach, not criticize.
- Coffee’s always hot, breaks are always respected.
- We train and upskill — no experience? No problem, we’ve got your back.
You’ll handle tools that cost hundreds of dollars — and learn how to extend their life, not break them through guesswork. You’ll work alongside experienced machinists and programmers who respect the machines — but also know their limits. You’ll take detailed notes, follow setup sheets, and learn how to read blueprints — even if the lighting’s dim and the clock says 3:00 a. ” You’ll grow at your own pace, with patient instruction, honest feedback, and respect for the process — not just the product. You’ll discover that this is more than a factory job — it’s a craft, and you’re learning to think in thousandths of an inch. You’ll discover that great CNC work isn’t about pushing “start” — it’s about understanding what happens after you do. You’ll end this program not just with experience, but with respect — for the process, the tools, and the craft of high-performance machining. If you’re curious, careful, and ready to grow in a place where craftsmanship meets technology — we’re ready to train you. ” If you value quiet focus, technical skill, and the satisfaction of solo work done well — we’re ready to train you after dark.
