Description:

We’re hiring Gardener and Landscaper Trainees — no experience required, just a love for nature and working with your hands. You’ll be part of a team that turns plain outdoor areas into peaceful, green, living spaces. You’ll start with the fundamentals: watering, raking, digging, and helping prepare soil and spaces for planting. Your early days will include sweeping paths, preparing soil, unloading plants, and cleaning up after the crew. You’ll learn how to compost, mulch effectively, and reduce waste while maintaining healthy green areas. You’ll begin to recognize plant types, understand soil conditions, and learn how sunlight and water affect growth. Expect to work outdoors in all weather — hot sun, cool mornings, and sometimes muddy ground — and go home with tired hands and a clear head. We’ll show you how to shape flower beds, edge lawns, and make small spaces feel neat and intentional. We’ll show you how to spot signs of disease, pests, or poor drainage — and how to fix or prevent problems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Install sod, turf, or ground cover and prepare soil by digging, aerating, or grading for optimal growing conditions.
• Communicate with team members or clients about daily tasks, project progress, or issues that arise during maintenance.
• Maintain clean and safe outdoor spaces by removing debris, raking leaves, collecting trash, and clearing pathways or driveways.
• Mow and edge lawns regularly, ensuring consistent height and appearance across landscaped areas.
• Design and install garden layouts, flower beds, irrigation systems, and decorative features like walkways, rock borders, or lighting.

Preferred:

• Can communicate with clients in a friendly and professional manner to understand landscaping needs.
• Open to tasks like rooftop garden care, vertical gardens, or container planting for urban settings.
• Able to safely operate landscaping tools and machinery such as lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, or leaf blowers.
• Familiar with seasonal planting schedules, composting, and fertilizer application.
• Background or interest in horticulture, botany, outdoor maintenance, or landscaping design.
