Description:

We’re hiring a Translator Trainee to help localize digital products — no experience needed, just strong language sense, attention to detail, and curiosity about how apps and websites talk to users. You’ll assist in transcribing video and audio materials, translating them clearly, and creating readable subtitles that match natural speech. We’ll teach you how to adapt tone and context — not just translate words, but preserve intent and cultural nuance. You’ll learn the difference between transcription, translation, and localization — and how to adapt meaning for different audiences. Expect to work with glossaries, CAT tools, and version tracking — learning how professional translators stay consistent and fast. You’ll also help review AI-generated drafts, correct errors, adjust phrasing, and polish translations for clarity. You’ll collaborate with designers and developers to keep meaning and UX intact across languages. You’ll help test localized builds, report layout bugs caused by translation, and suggest shorter or clearer alternatives. We’ll teach you how to maintain glossaries and translation memories, ensuring consistency across screens and updates.

Basic Qualifications:

• Proofread and self-check translations before delivery to minimize errors.
• Ask questions when context is missing—it’s better than guessing and getting it wrong.
• Stay current with language trends, regional variations, and industry-specific vocabulary.
• Be extra careful with legal, medical, or sensitive content where precision is critical.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized translation memory and termbase.
