Description:

We’re hiring a Journalist / Copywriter Trainee — no professional experience needed, just a strong interest in storytelling, clear writing, and digging deeper than surface-level facts. You’ll work closely with editors and content leads to craft articles, interviews, newsletters, and microcopy for real audiences. We’ll teach you how to structure an email: subject lines, hooks, body, and clear CTAs that actually get clicked. You’ll learn to go beyond prompting: shaping voice, fact-checking, correcting tone, and making sure the final text actually sounds like a human. Expect to rewrite confusing labels, break long instructions into steps, and add warmth or clarity to default system messages. You’ll help create copy for forms, modals, dropdowns, confirmation messages, and mobile flows. We’ll show you how to write for real people — with clarity, flow, and zero fluff — whether it’s a 100-word promo or a 1,000-word how-to. Some days you’ll cover real-time updates, other days you’ll chase slower stories that take time to unfold — both matter. We’ll teach you how to work with briefs, deadlines, and feedback — and how to revise fast without losing your voice.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adapt tone and style depending on the audience, platform, and purpose of the piece.
• Conduct interviews or gather quotes from experts, stakeholders, or people on the ground.
• Write headlines, subject lines, and social copy that grab attention without being clickbait.
• Write clear, compelling content across formats—articles, blog posts, emails, landing pages, and more.
• Use brand guidelines to maintain a consistent voice across all touchpoints.

Preferred:

• Can adjust copy length and style depending on format: short captions, long-form features, or microcopy.
• Wants to grow into roles like Senior Copywriter, Content Editor, or Investigative Journalist.
• Able to research topics thoroughly using credible sources and present balanced perspectives.
• Knows how to write for different mediums — web, print, social, newsletters, or scripts.
• Understands the basics of audience targeting and messaging strategy.
