Description:

We’re hiring a skilled and meticulous Transcriptionist to join our team and provide accurate, high-quality transcriptions for various projects. You’ll be responsible for transcribing recordings, ensuring all dialogue, speaker labels, and background noises are accurately noted. You’ll ensure every transcription is clear, well-structured, and includes accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and necessary formatting. You’ll work with a range of file formats, ensuring each transcription meets the client’s specific requirements and expectations. You’ll use transcription software and tools to ensure efficiency, but also maintain a high level of precision. You’ll proofread and edit your work to ensure the final transcript is clear, concise, and free from mistakes. You’ll follow client specifications and requirements, ensuring that all formatting, timestamps, and special instructions are followed. You’ll collaborate with clients to ensure that transcriptions meet their needs and are delivered promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Flag and report poor audio quality or missing content that may affect the accuracy of the final transcript.
• Format transcripts according to specific guidelines—verbatim, clean read, time-coded, speaker-labeled, etc.
• Transcribe in multiple languages or accents (if multilingual) or follow regional spelling/grammar preferences (e.g., US vs. UK English).
• Ultimately, turn spoken content into clear, searchable, and accurate text that serves business, education, or accessibility goals.
• Communicate professionally with clients to confirm instructions, request extensions, or clarify unclear parts of recordings.

Preferred:

• Experience using timestamps, speaker tags, and formatting tools efficiently.
• Enjoys turning spoken content into accurate, structured, and searchable text.
• Pays close attention to grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure while transcribing.
• Willing to research unclear terms, names, or references to ensure accurate transcription.
• Fast and accurate typing skills, ideally 60+ words per minute.
