You’ll help mediate communication challenges between family members and promote strategies for respectful, effective dialogue. You’ll advocate for clients in meetings with schools, healthcare providers, legal systems, or social agencies. You’ll document all interactions, progress notes, and service plans with accuracy and confidentiality in mind. You’ll assist families in navigating grief, stress, and medical decision-making with calm guidance and empathy. You’ll work with diverse populations, including youth, seniors, people with disabilities, and those facing poverty, abuse, or trauma. You’ll help clients navigate public benefits systems, legal paperwork, and identity documentation processes. You’ll document visits, referrals, and outcomes while maintaining confidentiality and trauma-informed practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Help clients navigate complex systems like welfare, immigration, or mental health care.
  • De-escalate conflicts and promote communication within families or support networks.
  • Connect individuals and families to community resources like housing, healthcare, or counseling.
  • Educate clients on their rights and available benefits to promote empowerment and independence.

Preferred:

  • Willing to participate in trainings, workshops, or ongoing professional development programs.
  • Understands trauma-informed care principles, cultural sensitivity, and inclusive communication practices.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive conversations, maintaining confidentiality, and advocating for client needs.
  • Pays close attention to documentation, timely reporting, and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Able to maintain appropriate boundaries, manage stress, and practice self-care in emotionally demanding environments.

Benefits:

  • Access to mental health resources — we support your mental well-being to help you be there for others.
  • Regular team meetings — where you can share experiences, advice, and best practices.
  • Paid time off and holidays — because you deserve time to recharge.
  • Training and professional development — we offer workshops, certifications, and continued education to help you grow.
  • Opportunities for growth — from case management to specialized programs and leadership roles.

You’ll maintain updated knowledge of local programs, government policies, and eligibility criteria to guide clients effectively. You’ll work in emergency rooms, ICUs, oncology units, maternity wards, or behavioral health departments depending on your caseload. You’ll be expected to remain nonjudgmental, consistent, and creative when solutions aren’t straightforward or immediate. You’ll receive training in de-escalation, harm reduction, and culturally competent communication with diverse populations. You’ll receive supervision, ongoing training, and opportunities for certification or advancement within the agency. You’ll receive weekly supervision, ongoing case training, and mentorship from senior clinicians or program leads. You’ll be expected to work with warmth and objectivity — offering support without judgment. No two days will be the same — and that’s why your compassion, resilience, and resourcefulness matter so much. If you're ready to help households reconnect, stabilize, and grow together, we’re ready to welcome you to family social work.
