Description:

We’re looking for a Barista Trainee who’s eager to learn the art and rhythm of coffee-making while delivering a warm, welcoming experience to every guest. You’ll begin by learning how to set up the café each morning — prepping stations, stocking milk, and dialing in the espresso machine. You’ll assist with prepping ingredients like syrups, milk, and toppings, keeping everything fresh, stocked, and organized. You’ll assist in pulling shots, steaming milk, and building drinks that meet the same high standard every time. You’ll learn to multitask — pulling shots, steaming milk, and chatting with customers, all in tight spaces and changing environments. You’ll support mobile setup and teardown, learning how to pack equipment safely and efficiently for transport. You’ll help restock cups, lids, and beans, and learn how to rotate supplies to minimize waste and maintain freshness. You’ll get familiar with how to pace yourself during busy hours and stay efficient without sacrificing quality or care. You’ll assist with basic baking, food handling, and plating of pastries or snacks when needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay calm and friendly during busy hours, managing multiple drink orders at once.
• Take pride in every cup—because for someone, it’s the best part of their day.
• Assist in training new hires by modeling good habits and sharing tips.
• Memorize the menu, including seasonal specials and alternative options for dietary needs.
• Upsell pastries, snacks, or merchandise when appropriate without being pushy.

Preferred:

• Friendly and engaging with customers, capable of taking orders clearly and offering product recommendations.
• Familiar with basic coffee bean knowledge, roast profiles, and brewing techniques (e.g., pour-over, French press, cold brew).
• Able to handle payments, operate POS systems, and manage tips or loyalty programs.
• Able to multitask during rushes without compromising service quality or attention to detail.
• Able to follow drink recipes accurately while offering speed and consistency during high-volume hours.
