Description:
We’re welcoming a motivated Architect Trainee to join our design studio and learn how great spaces are imagined, refined, and realized — no experience necessary, just passion and a sharp eye. You’ll assist senior architects with concept development, drafting plans, and preparing presentations for client meetings. We’ll show you how to take abstract ideas and turn them into site-responsive, functional design proposals. You’ll help create renderings, diagrams, and design documents that communicate ideas to clients and contractors. Expect to work with design tools like Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, and Photoshop — we’ll support your learning every step of the way. You’ll be part of internal reviews where projects are shaped through discussion, iteration, and creative tension. We’ll guide you through the process of developing 2D layouts into detailed 3D visualizations. You’ll explore how light, form, and circulation impact human experience within the built environment. You’ll also sit in on client consultations to understand how architects balance vision, budget, and regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Take pride in shaping the spaces people live, work, and dream in.
- Research materials, construction techniques, and environmental solutions to inform better design choices.
- Balance beauty and practicality—your designs should inspire, but also get built.
- Design functional, aesthetic, and sustainable structures that meet client goals and regulatory codes.
- Design with sustainability in mind: passive lighting, green materials, and efficient layouts.
Preferred:
- Capable of conducting site visits, taking measurements, and collaborating with engineers and contractors.
- Willing to take part in design competitions, exhibitions, or research-based initiatives.
- Organized with project timelines, drawing sets, and design development workflows.
- Comfortable working with both residential and commercial typologies depending on project scope.
- Background or degree in architecture, urban planning, or environmental design.
Benefits:
- You’ll work on projects you’re proud to show your friends (and parents).
- Your drawings don’t just sit in folders — they shape how people live, work, and move.
- You’ll have a voice — from design meetings to city review boards.
- No “just make it look pretty” — we believe function *is* beautiful.
- You’ll work on real projects that get built — not just “concepts for client moodboards.”
We’ll walk you through the architectural design process from concept to construction documents. You’ll assist with documentation for permits, design revisions, and construction specifications. You’ll be part of site visits and see how designs evolve from digital to physical through construction stages. You’ll be part of a creative studio culture where your input is welcome and learning is part of every day. You’ll receive mentoring and skill-building exercises tailored to help you grow confidently in your role. We’ll provide you with mentorship, exposure to real client briefs, and guidance on developing your design voice. You’ll also walk away with a portfolio filled with real contributions to real projects. If you’re ready to think spatially, work practically, and design meaningfully — this is your place to start.
