Description:

We’re looking for an Animator Trainee who sees movement as design in motion — someone who’s ready to learn how rhythm, spacing, and exaggeration can transform still art into dynamic storytelling. You’ll support the animation team on 2D projects ranging from social content to indie games to animated shorts. We’ll teach you the foundations of timing, spacing, and visual rhythm using classic animation principles in a modern workflow. You’ll study acting principles and learn how to translate emotion into posture, rhythm, and subtle gestures. You’ll work with tools like Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom, Blender, or Unity — depending on your interest and the pipeline. You’ll participate in animation reviews where we discuss weight, anticipation, and silhouette readability. We’ll guide you through character rigs, cycles, transitions, and camera moves that support storytelling and gameplay. You’ll participate in reviews where polish, clarity, and timing are tuned to fit moment-to-moment action. Expect to help with animation cleanup, cycle tuning, and ensuring actions blend well with mechanics and feedback.

Basic Qualifications:

• Optimize animations for performance on different platforms like web, mobile, or console.
• Prepare clean files with organized layers, rigs, and naming conventions for easy handoff.
• Maintain a high attention to detail, especially in fast-paced or high-volume pipelines.
• Work efficiently within tight feedback loops and shifting creative directions.
• Ensure timing, movement, and weight feel believable—even in stylized or exaggerated animation styles.

Preferred:

• Able to create storyboards, animatics, and keyframe sequences that convey emotion and motion clearly.
• Open to giving and receiving feedback in a collaborative, iterative creative process.
• Values movement as a storytelling tool and emotional amplifier.
• Familiar with rendering pipelines, asset exporting, and delivering files in required formats and resolutions.
• Pays attention to details like easing, pacing, and silhouette readability in every frame.
