Description:

We’re looking for a diligent and resourceful Online Research Assistant to help gather, analyze, and summarize data for various projects. You’ll be responsible for gathering information from credible online sources, ensuring all findings are relevant and up-to-date. You’ll sift through articles, reports, and other resources, extracting the key insights and data points that are most valuable to our team. You’ll use search engines, academic journals, databases, and other online resources to find the most relevant information. You’ll assist with compiling reports, summaries, and presentations based on your research to help inform decision-making. You’ll assist with competitive analysis, tracking industry shifts, and finding new opportunities for growth and development. You’ll ensure all research materials are accurate, credible, and up-to-date by carefully verifying sources and facts. You’ll work across a variety of industries and topics, developing expertise in each area to support our diverse needs. You’ll work across a variety of topics, from market research to industry analysis, adapting your approach based on the project.

Basic Qualifications:

• Be comfortable working async and independently—research often means long solo sessions before sharing results.
• Verify facts across multiple sources to ensure reliability, and flag anything that looks questionable or outdated.
• Organize and categorize data so it’s easy for team members to navigate, reference, and build on.
• Support a variety of teams—marketing, product, content, or operations—by delivering research tailored to their needs.
• Stay focused while digging through blog posts, academic papers, PDFs, and obscure forums—you’re a digital detective.

Preferred:

• Organized in collecting, structuring, and presenting findings in a clear format.
• Values accuracy, curiosity, and ethical information gathering.
• Strong internet research skills and ability to find credible, up-to-date information.
• Knows how to organize findings into presentations, reports, or reference documents.
• Familiar with niche databases, LinkedIn search, academic journals, or market data tools.
